How to Project Laptop Screen to Wall Without Projector

If you are having a movie night or your friends are coming over for a barbeque party, then a projector can keep you all entertained. This is the best way to watch movies or enjoy a home video with friends. But what if you don’t have projector to Project Laptop Screen or the one which you had just broke down?

You don’t need to worry because lucky for you there are some ways and methods in which you can still project the laptop screen to a wall and that too without a projector. Seems surprising right? But it is possible, and the method is quite simple to turn your laptops into a projector. So let us not waste any more time and just dive right in.

Create Your Own Projector – Project Laptop Screen

The best way to project your laptop screen to a wall is by creating your own DIY projector. Projectors are becoming more and more popular because they provide you the entertainment value you need, without any other equipment. But buying a projector can be a bit expensive and heavy on your wallet so it won’t be a suitable option for you if you are on a budget. We are going to tell you how you can make your own projector easily at home and without spending big bucks.

The Required Material

Before we get into the steps to make a projector, we need to gather the material which is required for it. All of these things are easy to find, and you can find them lying around in your house. Below mentioned are the materials which are required to make a DIY projector.

  • Scissors or knife
  • Thick black paper or matte black color
  • A cardboard box
  • Brush
  • Tape
  • Glue
  • A laptop
  • Mirror
  • Magnifying glass

Right-Seized Box and Magnifying Glass

The most important thing to do is find a box which is just the right size. Size of the box matters the most because you need to fit your laptop and magnifying glass and adjust it the right way, so you get perfect image. The box should be large enough to fit the laptop and have enough space so you can move around the glass in there easily. The glass and magnifying lens should be quite big and rectangular which will let you construct a huge image on the wall.

Dim the Interior

Now you will be needing the help of a scissor or a knife to cut the cover of the box and craft the outer part of this box. If the image is reflected from the sides of that box, then you will get a noisier image. But the most important thing to do here is to dim the interior of the box by using a matt black paper. Use glue on the paper and stick it inside the box completely. Make sure that it sticks properly, and you leave no space unglued.

Adjust the Lens

Here comes the most important part so you will be needing to be really careful with this. Place the lens accurately in the hole which you cut earlier. Make sure that the cuts are absolutely precise, so your lens fits tightly and does not move.

Add Mirror

By now you have created the outer part of the box and the picture which you will get will be flipped left to right and upside down. You will have to set the picture of your laptop to upside down and then to get the correct orientation of the image on big screen you will need to use a mirror. Place the mirror at a 45 degrees angle opposite to the lens which will then give you right image on the big screen.

Turning Image Upside Down

Rotating the image is probably the most important part of this process. If you are using a Windows 10 laptop then you can find Video Editor app installed in your system, which you can use to rotate the image. Open the app and start a new project. Drag and drop the desired video which you want to view on projector. Then press Control + R and keep rotating until the image is completely upside down. Then select Finish Video and save it.

Place the laptop

Final part of the process is to place your laptop inside the DIY projector which you just made. Place it at a perfect distance with lens and mirror to get crisp picture quality. That’s it you have your very own homemade projector ready to be used.

Final Word

This was the article, and we hope it covered everything you needed to know. Follow the above-mentioned steps to turn your laptops into DIY projectors to entertain your friends.
